What i designed is a 40 by 20 by 10 foot German glass house. The point of this house design is not for people to leave in but to see a vision in Anselm Kiefers life. Since Anselm grow up in Germany the location of this house was pretty self explanatory. Now, Anselm Kiefers sculptures were mainly showing dry lands, forests, and farms with WW2 related things. Which helped me set a really good location for the house. My hole idea was to focus on the location of the house more then the house it self.
project reasearch
Anselm kiefer was born on 8 March 1945 in Germany. A fun fact about Anselm is that he never loved or got into art until his sophomore year in college. Anselm kiefer work was pretty different from other architectures.Because his focus was more toward historical things especially WW2 time. his focused was more on land and location of his house rather then the house it self. If he was to focus on the house his house design would be focused on weird angles and edges.
mixed media art work
so my goal was design a peace that would represent Anselms art work and WW2 related things. My goal of the location and mixed media was design something that would audience into a deep feeling that would make them understand and feel the disaster that the people were going through during WW2 and kindly/respectfully living in the place were people lost there lives.
design process
final design
What i design is a 40 by 20 by 10 German glass house with two floors, with second floor being 360 glass frame office work space. The house two bathrooms, 1 living room, 1 bedroom, and a kitchen. which is perfect for a single person to live in. The house is located on a lake sore that sets off to a mountain view with the sun set going down in between those mountains. The entire house is surrounded be trees and the amazing nature. and the point of that is for the owner to feel the nature and enjoy it and feel welcome by the area. and the garage is half of a mile walk through the forest with a very fancy walk way to walk on toward it.
beautiful-pleasing the senses or mind aesthetically.
in my country the word beautiful is looked at as how the object is designed in details not by its face. And the way that my church building connects with my word, is that my church consists many different color reflections through its windows and also all the gorges painting that are on it. It also has very fancy looks as far as interior stuff like the preachers small bible table and everything else all the way to the fancy long wooden seats.
Makerspace building picutres
So the process of designing this model was pretty self explanatory. We first cut of a 96 by 92 chipboard to use for the base of this model. And the side of this model is a 72 by 96 chipboard wall as well, with a 92 by 80 foot roof. For the interior, its being divided into three floors with a 15 foot separation between them. For the walls we used foamboard due to the thickness of the walls that we wanted to provide. And for empty spaces on the model are representing glass windows. and all the compartments are being help by hot glue.
family houses
For our houses we used the Revit 3d print to design. The house is 30 by 30 feet with the height being 20 feet. Because our makerspace is located on a lake there for the houses are also designed to stay afloat. the houses is divided into 2 floors with an accessible outside stair case that leads up to the second floor.
